Educational and professional background

Mr.Lapidus received a J.D. (Juris Doctor) degree from the Washington College of Law, American University in 1970. The Dean of the College of Law, Claudio Grossman, has informed Mr. Lapidus that he is considered a "distinguished alumnus" for his professional accomplishments and long-term support for the law school.

He continued his legal education beyond the basic level, earning an LLM (Masters of Law) degree from Georgetown University Law School in 1976.

In between, he served as a Captain in the United States Air Force in the capacity of a Special Agent in the Office of Special Investigations (OSI) and as an officer in the Judge Advocate Generals' Corps (JAG).

Mr. Lapidus has been in the private practice of law since 1974. He was a labor/employment lawyer until 1986 when he joined a prominent regional personal injury law firm. Today, Mr. Lapidus is a senior trial lawyer and a named partner in a 15 lawyer firm with offices in Washington, D.C. and Maryland (Largo & Baltimore).
